Hi. I am currently 33 wks pregnant with my 3rd child

Q. Hi. I am currently 33 wks pregnant with my 3rd child. I have noticed for the past 4 wks or so a difference in my vaginal area. It is very difficult these days to look, so I am even more confused.

When I go to the restroom whether it be to urinate or defecate, I notice that I feel heavy in the area between the vagina and the anus. When I touch that area I feel like it is bulging, it just feels like it droops out….not sure that makes sense. I had a 3rd degree tear with my last birth and I have felt ‘different’ ever since. On occasion intercourse which includes penetration from my spouse can be a bit painful, almost like I have to physically use my hands to open that area for him. Do these things sound normal and if not, who would I discuss these issues with (what type of doctor)? I look forward to hearing your response and I appreciate the time you are taking to help. Thanks in advance!

A. Thanks. I think it is best to await the birth of your baby and see your GP at the end of 6 weeks, however nothing stops you from discussing this with your midwife and or your Obstetrician in the natenatal clinic, who may chose to have a look and discuss findings with you. This is however likely to be more meaning after childbirth, and perhaps after you have resumed sexual intercourse. There is a likelihood that you have vaginal prolapse.

Have been told that I have a 4cm large pedunculated fibroid

Q. Have been told that I have a 4cm large pedunculated fibroid by a nurse who did ultrasound, however am confused as she said it is “in the wall” this would mean it is subserous right? Anyway if it is pedunculated, I am 28 and wish to get pregnant and on COC. Should I swap COC for POP and do i need surgical intervention? I always bleed a day after sexual intercourse and my periods are longer but never painful but have noticed tummy weight gain and more constipation. I am just worried about getting pregnant adn want to know my options.,

A. Thanks. I think it is best if you do go and discuss your options with your GP, who will be able to put things in perspective for you. You may be referred to your local gynaecologist, for a specialist opinion. A 4cm pedunculated subserous fibroid means it is largely outside the wall, and should ordinarily not interfere with getting pregnant unless the description is not correct. The written scan report itself will be enlgihtening.

I have recently given birth at 18 weeks ago, I have not yet had sex but I am very concerned that my vagina will be stretched

Q. I have recently given birth at 18 weeks ago, I have not yet had sex but I am very concerned that my vagina will be stretched from this, i am looking to have a vaginal tightening procedure, would you think that this is nessecary and could you please tell me location of your clinic. Maybe i dont need this procedure but could i have a consultation to be checked out?,

A. The best way to check out if you need vagina tightening is to resume sexual intercourse and see how things develop. If you do feel that you are having symptoms of stretch, then do come and see me in London, Leeds or Manchester or Hull. If you still wish to be checked out regardless, do contact me via info@gynecosmetics.com

Looking for a guide price for my vagina to be made tighter

Q. Hi Dear Sirs Looking for a guide price for my vagina tighter with vaginal surgery. I am 32 and had 2 children few years ago and after the birth i starting experiencing problems with urine leaking out in small amounts at any given moment. I also have problems getting any intense feelings from sexual intercourse and have a lot trapped wind up there when i do have sex which is not very often. At same time i am thinking of having breast implants put in depending costs and if finance is available and hope it is possible to have them done at same time. Thanks,

A. My suggestion is that you perhaps have them done at separate times, but they can be done together. The cost of Vaginal tightening is about £3850-£4500. That of Breast Aug is about £3800. You should get a second procedure at about 50% of total cost if done together. Please do amke enquiries via info@gynecosmetics.com
