I never had Hormone replacement treatment after a hysterectomy can I start different medication?
Q. Dear Dr
I am 52. 5 years ago I had an abdominal hysterectomy (ovaries were not removed).I have never received Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) after that. But then three years ago I started having a number of symptoms, such as hypertensia, mood swings, arthralgia, headache, weight gain, bitterness in the mouth, chronic fatigue etc. I visited my GP and she prescribe me Estradot (50mg) without any study of my health: I had endometrial hyperplasia,cervical polip,2 miscarriages (before 2 childs birth) in past. So should I start to have Estradot or I’ll have more a risk than benefit?

A. Thanks for your question. the thing is, it is difficult for me to advise you any other than what your GP has told you without seeing you and gauging your profile.
