Q. I have experienced bleeding during sex on and off for a few years. I have been on the pill ovysmen for 13 years. My local gp seems to think it’s the oestrogen levels that’s causing this,and has recommend taking a 3month break. I am now in my 7th week and my periods have been the same,regular. I’m really concerned as i’m still bleeding and sometimes an awful lot. I’ve had a smear in the past 2 years and sexual health check,which came back negative.I’m worried as I’m 27 and looking to have children I’m the next year. Thank you ,

 

A. Thanks. If things are not settling in time, you should be referred to your local gynaecoloigst, who will assess you and may need to perform further testing
