Q. Hello Mr Daniels
I had a SIS Oct 2009 and this showed 3 polyphs but endometrium was normal.
Had aspontaneous miscarriage 30 December 2009. Heavy bleeding with lots of clots and bleed for about 14 days. Next period occurred about 4-6 weeks later, was very heavy with clots and lasted again about 14 days. In April period pattern returned to that prior to miscarriage. In May had a few days of spotting and then period occured as expected and lasted 7 days; normal. Period in June normal. July had a few days light spotting and then light period occurred. In August period started 3 days late and had bright red blood. This period was light. Stopped 6/7 days later and then 2 days later it started again with bright red blood. Bleeding light. Was admitted for a hysteroscopy and polypectomy on 16 Aug 2010. The hysteroscopy showed what I got told was a fuzzy endometriun and that it didn’t resemble an endometrium of someone my age; I’m 46, so a D&C was performed an biopsy. I was told that it may be endometrial cancer or hyperplasia. As you can appreciate I have my fingers and toes crossed. As stated D&C on 16 Aug 2010 but I’m still bleeding, light but bright red. Minimal to no bleeding when lying down only when up; is this due to pooling in the uterus? Is having bright red blood normal? Why is it bright red? how long may bleeding last? Have some discomfort in lower pubic area? was prescribed antibiotics for UTI after proceedure. Would appreciate your experience. Thanking you in anticipation. Su,
A. Thanks. I think may of the questions here are very person specific and the best answer will come form your
gynecologist who did the hysteroscopy. Ideally you should arrange to speak to them directly or through your GP asking them the questions. You certainly have had irregular bleeding, which is due to some identified reason, including polyps. Some irregualr bleeding may take a couple of week to subside after this type fo procedure and finding. You should at least see your GP to make sure there is no infection, an if there is , a swab and a different antibiotics can be given.
