Do you know what could have caused my vagina to swell after sex?

Q. Hi, I am really worrying about something and I hope that you can help me with it. Here’s the thing, I had sex with my long term boyfriend two days ago. The only different was that it lasted longer than usual and we used lubrication. Since then I have had slight swelling and it stings most of the time just inside my vagina, mostly when I urinate which is really painful. Like a burning sensation. I have also started producing a lot more discharge which has changed from a white to a slight yellow. I’ve had an std check since being with him and we have both been faithful so I’m ruling that out, I have also had thrush before and it doesn’t feel like that. Could you give me any answers? Thank you in advance,

A. Thanks. The stinging sensation may be due to subtle trauma to the vaginal skin and maybe also bruising to the bladder wall. Otherwise, to check for possible std, it’s best to see your GP or go to the nearest sexual health clinic.
