Q. Hi,
I am writing in on behalf of my Fiance who lives at the moment in Finland, but I moving to the UK next year.
2 years ago she had a hysterectomy because the doctors said she had endometriosis, but after a biopsy they found that what was taken out was healthy and no trace of endometriosis. Now she is still having pains in a similar place (ovaries area) during sex, but not like before. She recently came back from her doctor who ran some standard checks and again has given her the all clear.
I do want to get this sorted one way all the other so I have suggest that maybe we have to go private in the UK to see if a second opinion will shed more light on the situation, hence the enquiry.

Q. Hello, I have noticed that when i have a bath, water tends to get into my vagina and leak out afterwards. also when i exercise and i do jumps i get a dropping sensation. I have also recently been diagnosed with adenomyosis. please advise what my options are.

Q. Hello Mr Daniels, I wondered if you could answer something for me? My girlfriend has got weak pelvic floor muscles which her doctor doesn’t seem to know how to deal with. It gets her very down and is stopping her wanting sex as she can not feel it during intercourse. A. Hi, thank you for your question. Doing pelvic floor exercises does help, to some extent and that is what is usually recommended. However, if this does not help, we will normally recommend that she considers having something known as vaginal tightening surgery, provided, she does not have any nerve damage problems. A. Thanks for the question. I think that it is going to be very difficult to get more “tone” to stop the vaginal wind – it is usually due to damage to the transverse perineal muscles – which form the “vagina gate” against air-trapping – A vaginal tigthening will help that, but the tigthening must include, not just vaginal narrowing, but also closure of the transverse pernieal muscles – as in a properly done perineoplasty – with this in mind. I always and had a loose vagina and this problem became worse after giving birth to my second child. After having a perineoplasty, I felt tight at the beginning but after two months the problem is still there. The gynaecologist whom I met for the following up appointment said that that I had to practice Kegels exercises but even though I have tried them, I cannot see any changes. Is there any way for me to have another surgery which tightens the whole vaginal canal because I am really stressed and this problem is ruining my marriage. Please help

Perineoplasty alone, is truly not a vaginal tightening surgery, its usually is for the outside, although I appreciate that it can be done to include a small portion of the inside lower vagina. Many of our surgeons colleagues, unfortunately dabbling into this area are doing perineoplasty, as this is very simple to do and the lower cost entices patients to go for this option in the name of “vaginal tightening”. Well, your experience is certainly not unusual in that once you’ve made love a few times, after a perineoplasty, you soon realise that the problem persists, but the outside may be a little tighter.
