Q. Hello,
I think I have endometriosis, since starting my periods at 11 I had small period pains that were gone after hour or so with paracetamol, now 5 years on my periods have got so bad that I don’t come off my period at all, it just slows down and the pain is unbearable. The pain last all day and no amount of pain killer will get rid of it, it’s even resulted me in to having days off work. It’s beginning to worry me, I have been to my doctor 4 times since this started happening worse and worse, and they have just put me on the implant and the pill, then when none of that worked they took me off the pill, and told me the implant was doing it, and so was the pill. So the final time I went back (2 weeks a go ).I told them how excruciating the pain was and the bleeding and they said it was just my age and hormones and put me back on the pill which yet again has done nothing! I don’t know what to do, I don’t want things to get worse by leaving it or by doctors getting it wrong especially with what endometriosis can cause.
Thank you ,
A. Thanks. They can try making you take the pills for three cycles back to back and see if that helps. If not your GP can refer you to a gynaecologist to decide, if a laparoscopy is necessary. It is best to delay this, if other things are working.
