I am struggling with a pain in my leg, is due to the C-section I had?

Q. Hi…i gave birth to my first child in april 2011 thru c-section…during recovery after c-section i experienced sudden pain in my left leg when i get up from the bed and try to walk(almost everyday)…it was severe initially and got reduced in around 6 months…i am normal all the time but experience this pain from my buttocks till foot suddenly without my knowledge…something like no strength to keep my foot on the floor only during that pain….i didnt take it seriously since it was occasional…….but now 20 weeks pregnant with my second baby…m worried whether it is becoz of the epidural and wat will happen during the delivery of my second child and whether my pain is permanent or will it get cured..pls advice me
,

A. Thanks. Apologies for the delay in answering your question. There is a possibility that there is a nerve that gets irritated during a chug of position from getting out of bed, after a prolonged petted of rest, and relative stiffness. It’s difficult for me to say it’s due to the epidural, or if you had a spinal block. I suggest you should arrange to see your anaesthetist well before your due date, to discuss what happened last c-section and what is likely to happen during this delivery. You may need to have further tests of nerve function if the problem persists after this pregnancy.

I have a very big lump down below, could it be an ingrown hair?

Q. Hi, I need to find out about a problem I am having. I’m not the biggest fan off airing it on the web but I really need it to be ok. The problem is that I have a very big lump down below. It is actually near my vagina on the right hand side. I think it maybe an ingrowing hair, but it is very painfull and now also affecting my groin area. I just wondered if you could help. thank you,

A. Thanks for your question. I understand why your not particularly comfortable but you remain anonymous and I will try to deal with your situation sensitively. What I would say about the the lump is that In-growing hair are never that big, as you said “very big.” The best thing for you to do now would be to see your gp or send us a photo (without your face on) to info@gynecosmetics.com for an opinion before potentially arranging a consultation. I would do this as soon as possible if I were you.

I am a 38 years old woman whose period has stopped yet I want children

Q. I am a 38 years old woman whose period has stopped completely. I went to my GP asking for help because I was worried that I had not seen my period in a year, bloods were taken and I was told that my hormone levels were low. I was given a hormone correcting tablet to take for a week to help my period reset itself as my GP put it so I would have normal periods. At the end of 7 days of taking this tablet, my period came no problem and then never again since then, I’m really worried as I want to have children!! My GP refuses to refer me to a Gynaecologist as I’ve asked so I can find out what the problem is and I just cannot bear this anymore. Please help, I really want children and my husband has fathered a child elsewhere because I haven’t been able to give him a child. This problem is putting stress on my relationship, marriage and life. I thought the fact that I was a Nurse and a fellow colleague I would have been treated better from my GP but my GP just does not care and I am despair and worried about this problem. Please help me.,

A. Thanks. Do ask your hospital consultant for an opinion. Your hormonal pathway seems to be working, but you may not be having regular ovulation,. Do see your GP or his partner again.

hi i have a lot 0f question about my vaginal cyst.

Filed under: Expert Answers,Gynecology,Mr Joe Daniels — admin @ 5:16 am
Q. hi i have a lot 0f question about my vaginal cyst. actually I tried IVF 2 times, but we are not a success. my doctor said this is because of my cyst so they advice me to make operation on it..so my question is; is it a good idea to make the operation on it and is there a possibility that in my 3rd attempt at IVF to bring a baby in this world..i’m 37 yrs.old actually my husband have a problem so that’s why i made IVF twice but we are not yet lucky…thanks for your help and G0D bless…,

A. Thanks for your question. If you have a vaginal cyst, but able to have normal sex, this should not stop you from getting pregant if everything is OK with you and your husband. I suspect you have an ovarin cyst. My suggestion therefore is to have it removed, if your IVF specialist says you should, especially if its a large cyst, or if it does interfere with ovulation. I wish you the best of luck with your journey. Joe Daniels.

I have a burning pain in my vagina that nobody seems to be able to solve

Filed under: Expert Answers,Gynecology,Mr Joe Daniels — admin @ 5:09 am
Q. Hi there I have a problem that nobody seems to be able to solve, please could you help. I have a burning pain in my vagina & a feeling that i have a urine infection all the time. I had a hysterectomy when i was 26 & im now 48, ive had urine tests done & every one comes back normal. its a uncofortable feeling i have all the time, last year i had a pelvic floor repair op & got mesh put in can it be anything to do with this, can you help please, doctor gave me oestrogen cream & tablets for over active bladder nothing much helps ,

A. Hi, Thanks for your question I’m sorry to hear it is giving you so much grief. IF you have overactive bladder, you need treatment for this, not just oestrogen. If you have had all your tests including a cystoscopy, and nothing is found,it may be worth trying pain-modulating perecption treatment – such as amitryptiline or gabapentin.

I am 28 years old, 5ft-6in in height, weighs 262pounds and cannot conceive?

Filed under: Expert Answers,Gynecology,Mr Joe Daniels — admin @ 4:50 am
Q. I am 28 years old, 5ft-6in in height, weighs 262pounds. I don’t have a child and desperately want to get pregnant. I am asthmatic, hypertensive, short of breath and is troubled with sinusitis.
My question to you is what do I now do, how do I go about getting pregnant. Its not a problem with my significant half as I’ve been involved with a few before him who all have tried to impregnate me but have not been successful, men who get children before and after me so its based on that why I am convinced that the problem is with me.
My partner now is 55years old, his last out of 6 children is 4years of age. He wants a child from me and I want a child/children so badly. I have a period problem, when it just started it came once or twice the most for a year, I went to several doctors and was told that is normal and that it will regularize after having children. They even tried me on purls but I was allergic to it. After years I then started to see it more often, every other month, then every month, now none stop. I had to go to the doctor again and so he gave me an injection to stop the bleeding, gave me forms to do a pap smear and an ultrasound. I have researched a pill called Chlomephine, I want to try that. please give me your feed back ASAP. Thanks much in advance,

A. Thanks. I suggest you go to your gynaecologist and have a proper investigation to know what is causing his, apart from not ovulating properly.

I have a lump up inside me which seems to be the source of a nasty smell and discharge?

Filed under: Expert Answers,Gynecology,Mr Joe Daniels — admin @ 4:42 am
Q. Hello i am 18 years old am i have recently found a lump right up inside me. It makes sex uncomfortable and it has a very bad smell even more when having sex. This is making me not want to do it with my partener. Even when i get washed it still smells. I dont no what it is. Have you heard of this before? Also i have been getting alot of thick discharge which i have never really had a problem with before. What does it sound like to you?,

A. thanks for the question. I would suggest you go to the sexual health clinic where they can examine you further, take a sample of the discharge and test it. There could be an infection, but if there is a vaginal cyst or abscess, this should be visible at examination. a cyst can be popped or removed if the circumstances are favorable whilst an infection can most likely be cured don;t worry. If there’s anything else you need don’t hesitate to contact me again. Joe Daniels.

Will vaginoplasty able me to have a normal sex life and a child?

Filed under: Expert Answers,Gynecology,Mr Joe Daniels — admin @ 4:20 am
Q. I am 31 years old and suffering from primary amenorrhoea. But i am having severe periodical pain every month on due date.
My doctor did a laparoscopy at my 23 and found my uterus more or less normal, but absent a of vaginal canal. I think i have Vaginal Agenesis.
My doctor suggested that i should go for vaginoplasty to create vaginal canal once i decide to marry. he also told to do it just before my marriage as it might get back into previous position if i do it earlier. I want to get married now. Will vaginoplasty able me to have a normal sex life? will i be able to have baby?,

A. Thanks.the vaginoplasty should help. Have you got any space between your back passage and wee pipe – urine outlet, at all. You might be able to get pregnant depending on your ovaries and cervical canal and if your partner is ok. Successful surgery leading to reasonable intercourse should lead to pregnancy if everything is ok. If not you may need IVF of some sort.

I have a large lump inside my vagina, what is it and what should I do?

Filed under: Expert Answers,Gynecology,Mr Joe Daniels — admin @ 4:14 am
Q. hello, please can you help me with this? since i was around 11 years of age i realised i wasnt normal. Im now 23. I discovered i had quite a large growth inside my vagina .. it is situated on the top wall where my bladder is and is quite large.. it is not painful just large and gets in the way sort of thing… I’ve looked on the internet and it sounds like it could be some sort of cyst or something. I was just wondering if you could advise me on what it is maybe or what I could so with it? Thank you, any help will be appreciated.,

A. Thanks for your question and entrusting me to help you. I’d ask you however to recognize I cannot give a comprehensive plan of action without seeing you myself. in the way of basic help I advise that You need to see a doctor to have it checked out as soon as possible. If it is a cyst, it can be popped or carefully removed this is not a problem as Long as it doesn’t communicate with any important structure like your wee-pile or bladder, this is where complications can occur. get down to your GP or local gyneacologist and have it checked.
