i had a non hormone coil fitted almost 3 weeks ago

Q. i had a non hormone coil fitted almost 3 weeks ago now and i have bled every day since. the bleeding is heavy and can occur at any time day or night. i also suffer stomach cramps and back ache which are driving me mad! is this normal or am i better to get it removed? is this just something i should just put up with? ,

A. Thanks. I suggest you should arrange to see the doctor or specialist who inserted the coil. IT will be reasonable to do some test, e.g infection screening, and then decide whether to keep it and wait for things to settle, or giv e you some medication to try to stop the bleeding or to remove it.

I have recently had a scan and it has shown i have

Q. I have recently had a scan and it has shown i have cysts on my right ovaries,i have not had a period in a year.Could this b polycytric ovaries?I have just been told that they dont look like typical POS and have to wait and c a specialist.,

A. Thanks. It could be any type of cyst, form normal to abnormal./ IT depends on the size. From what you said, it will look like they are benign cyst with not much to worry about, apart from perhaps doing some blood tests and repeating the Scan. If they are large, that’s another story. It may or may not be related to the reason why you have not seen your period.

Dr, have had implanon for contraceptive fitted for

Q. Dr, have had implanon for contraceptive fitted for three years in 2004 and had it out 2007. Another in and out 2010. This was as a result was geting too obesity and ever since have had no periods. have had some thyrod test done and clear. I am 44yrs years and wondering what could have gone wrong. I once had the problem at 30 yrs andf thought was pregnant as my tummy was getting big. But one day just felt dissy and colapsed and was told it was a cyst which had burst and was nt pregnant. I desperately need to have my periods back.,

A. Thanks. You may need to change your contraceptive method in this case. Implanon does cause loss of period in many women. You can also keep your Implanon and undergo further tests, such as PElvic Ultrasound scan, and keep things under control

My coil (copper IUD) is stuck the strings are not

Q. My coil (copper IUD) is stuck the strings are not there and my GP has tried twice to get it out after a scan confirmed it is still there, she thinks it is embedded in my cervix! She has refered me to hospital for a procedure that begins with a ‘C’ please could you tell me what is going to be done to me to get it out?! Also roughly how long am I going to wait on the NHS andcan I have it done privately and if so how much would it cost? Thanks,

A. Thanks. You will be having a retrieval of IUCD coil. To come out, you may also need hysteroscopy, but it is not usually necessary. The cost depends on how it is taken out. you may need to go under a short general anaesthesia, if it is painful to retrieve it.

during intercourse my cervix really hurts, what can

Filed under: Contraception,Gynecology,Mr Joe Daniels — admin @ 6:39 am
Q. during intercourse my cervix really hurts, what can i do to stop this?,

A. Thanks. Positionin is the best intervention, so that it is less frequent for your partner to reach the cervix. There may be some other reasons such as infection or scarring (adhesions) or even endometriosis.
