Q. Hello Mr Daniels. days ago me and my boyfriend had unprotected anal sex. It was right after my period ended. I am having diarrhea for 3 days now and I am feeling really tired and sometimes dizzy although I sleep enough and it is starting to really scare me. The diarrhea doesn’t go away even though I only eat food that is supposed to stop it. I am wondering if there is any chance of me being pregnant? I know that it is quite impossible to get pregnant from anal sex and right after the period, but I still would like to know your professional opinion. Please answer me as soon as you can. Thank you.

 

A. The only way is to check – do a pregnancy test. Some ladies do report bleeding monthly after pregnacy till perhaps three or four months before they realise they are pregnant

Q. Hi, I came off Dianette Pill in December as we wanted to start a family. We used condoms up until April so that my body could regain some normality. My periods carried as normal coming monthly until now. My last period was 26th April & my may period should of arrived on the 23rd may but still not arrived. I am experiencing indigestion/ heartburn everyday, my body temp just doesn’t know where to settle. I find I’m hot up until around 12pm & then my temp is normal for the rest of the day. I’m very aware of my tummy, can’t sleep on it anymore. I can’t eat normal amounts as I find I’m full after eating half my meals. Then I feel bloated for the rest of the eve. Have the urge for sweet things. Yet I have had 3 negative urine tests & 1 negative blood test. What could be going on?,

 

A. Thanks. You do need a proper assessment and examination. I suggest you see your GP or local gynecologist. It may not be clear what is going on until a few tests, including ultrasound has been done.

Q. Hi. I am 27yrs old and had unprotected sex on the 28th of May and my last cycle was on the 15th of may. I took a contraceptive pill after 17hrs os sexual intercourse wantin to knw if am pregnant.

 

A. You will need to do a pregnancy test. You couldl be preganct if you have not seen your period in another two to four weeks.

Q. I have been experiencing the following symptoms: – prolonged pain in the lower abdomen and back, extending to hips – discharge/fluid which is generally consistent, raging from clear and watery to think and yellow – developing to brown after menstruation. The pain is becoming more uncomfortable. I have an IUD coil and I have recently been tested for STI’s – results clear. Do my syptoms indicate something which could require attention?

Q. I am 28 years old have had 6 children which were all vaginal births and big and my youngest child is 6wks old. I have no muscle whot so ever i feel nothing during intercorse and alot of times have wet myself. My vagina looks as if there is two balls of flesh coming out. This is realy affecting my confidence. Q. My husband and I have been trying for a baby for the past 6 months but without success. I have decided to use ovulation test and the temperature test to maximise the chances,I have noctice that all the ovulation tests are negative but i hae noticed the change in temperature. i am quite worried especially because three years ago I had a termination. I really need some help,

 

A. Thanks. Do speak to your GP. Unfortunately unless your age is closer to 40 your GP may mot refer you to a gynecolost yet. But there is a chance that you are not ovulating every month. You might need to loose weight. if you are over weight or gain weight if are very underweight and/or go on some medication to help induce ovulation

Q. Hi, I just recently started to have vaginal tears during sex with my husband and this has happened twice. The first time was in march and the most recent was yesterday. Since march I did not have sex till yesterday. I don’t know why I started having this problem, I never had this problem before. Q. Hi, I have 2 large fibroids in the fundus. One 20x10x10cm and one 12x10x10. I had my first pregnancy in December 09 which ended in a blighted ovaum in Jan 10 but during the first few weeks my fibroid grew rapaidly and was over 28cm. It has only reduced partly to pre-pregnancy size. My gynaecologist recommends a myomectomy but quotes a 1-2% risk of hysterectomy. American experts such as Paul Indman state that you should find a surgeon with less than 1% risk. Can you recommend a UK surgeon who can offer this, and is there use of adhesion barriers and laser for incisions and sealing of vessels in the UK?
