My daughter is 19 her period stopped 7 months ago

Q. Hi. My daughter is 19 her period stopped 7 months ago, the doctor said is normal as she has lost weight, my daughter is 5 foot 5 and weight 57 kilos for her age is normal, what can be the cause, is it best to have a scan, she feels very bloated and has a bloated stomach please send advise ; ),

A. Thanks. She may have a scan. There are other questions that the gynaecologist will like to ask her, so my suggestion is that if you are not happy with the explanation your GP gave you, you may ask for a referral to see a gynaecolgist.

My mother recently had a transvagina scan due to a huge family shock she had in January

Q. Hello. My mother recently had a transvagina scan due to a huge family shock she had in January which resulted in her having a small blood lost. My mum is 8 years post menapause. The scan showed she had a larger right overy with a solid mass area inside. My mum is 60 years old. They thought it could be ovarian cancer. My mum has no signs of ovarian cancer. My mum had a CA-125 blood test which can back normal (9) and a CAT scan which showed there was nothing there at all on her right ovary. Everything totally fine and thats it. but because of the different scan reports I am worried sick that they have missed something and that maybe there is something wrong that they have missed. Is there anything else that can be done or does this sound like everything has been covered? please advise. Thank you very much.,

A. You need to arrange another scan, for your own peace of mind, but if your mum had a temporary cyst, it might have gone

When I was younger – 13/14 I had an accident on a bike of which I slipped and banged my private area

Q. When I was younger – 13/14 I had an accident on a bike of which I slipped and banged my private area. I had bleeding from my vagina and terrible pain. I am worried this might be the cause of lack of feeling in my clitoral area. I have read up on nerve damage and sexual dysfunction, and I am scared it could have damaged my nerves in that area for good. I have very little feeling in my clitorus, and when sexual active (I am gay also) they area tends to become over sensative before being pleasureable. Is there any way to be diagnosed and treatment? Also I here it could be lack of blood flow or estrogen or Physcological problems as I was brought up in a strict religion. This is really effecting my life and relationships and I dont even masturbate because of lack of desire and feeling.Hope you can help.,

A. Thank you for your questions. I think the best advise I can give is to see your understanding GP and discuss this further.

I have a 4y old son and I have been told that have problem with blood coagulation pregnancy

Q. I have a 4y old son and I have been told that have problem with blood coagulation pregnancy because i miss carry twice before so medicate by heparin in the pregnancy and i had my son then miscarry again and now i cant be pregnant why?,

A. This is called recurrent miscarriage if you have miscarried three times – one-after-the-other. You need to stay with the plan and care your Obstetrician is giving you. If you need to ask for referral to a bigger hospital where they specilise in treatment of recurrent miscarriage, then ask your doctor or GP.

Last year I used to masturbate (five time per a week) I’d ask if I lost the virginity or not

Q. Hi. Last year I used to masturbate (five time per a week) I’d ask if I lost the virginity or not, and how can I know a bout it. best regards,,

A. Technically virginity is about whether you have or have not had penetrative sexual intercourse before. If you need whether your hymen is intact or may be stretched, you can either check this yourself or go to be examined – the scope of the examination need to be discussed ad agreed with you. You may enquire further on info@gynecosmetics.com if this is ~OK.

My wife has been visiting a gynecologist for 2 years without a diagnosis

Q. Hi, My wife has been visiting a gynecologist for 2 years without a diagnosis. She is suffering from pain during sexual intercourse. I have a feeling that it could be Dyspareunia but she’s not happy that I think it could be in her head. On a recent visit to her hospital the doctor had used lubrication on her and had 2 fingers inside of her vagina and she did not feel any paiin!, she came home and we had the best sex in a very long time. We always use lubrication but I was thinking if there is a certain way on how to apply ithe lube properley and what lubrication do the hospitals use and where to buy it from as it is clearly better than what we have stored in our house (durex) We are trying for a baby so I do hope that this makes sense and that I can get a reply, thanks!!,

A. Thanks. Your wife does have Dyspareunia, and if the visit to the gynaecoligst has helped, that’s great. You need to look out for KYJelly or Aqua Gel either in tube or as sachet. Try out first.

I had hysterectomy for a prolapsed womb and bowel

Q.I  had hysterectomy for a prolapsed womb and bowel, and had a type of harness fitted,6months on uncomfortable to sit down feels like a swelling and soreness rectum vagina.,

A. Thanks. I think you will need to contact and discuss with your gynaecologist. I assume you would have had a mesh vaginal repair. You need to be examined to make sure it has not eroded into the vagina.

I have a very long story 27 months ago I had a baby during my pregnancy I suffered from thrush

Q. I have a very long story 27 months ago I had a baby during my pregnancy I suffered from thrush but my doctor prescribed me with canestan combi, which worked, I had a induced labour with inducing gel which as soon as it was used stinged inside my vagina it instantly started stinging and I was suffering with a lot of discomfort, I told the doctor I didn’t want anymore and she said do you have thrush I said no, and she continued to put more gel inside, (maybe I should have mentioned that I had been recently treated for thrush) I eventually went on a drip and had a epidural to progress labour and I was put on a catheter , 9 centimetres and 3 days later I had a c-section and I stayed on the catheter to the next morning, when I eventually went to the toilet when i wiped myself my vulva felt very sore and dry, almost like i was scraping the area, things continued the same for weeks but i just assumed it was because of the trauma i had been through, eventually when me and my boyfriend had sex it burned really bad, and for about a year it stayed the same even my clitoris burns when touched! after the 1st year i noticed the burning sensation went away for about 10s day during ovulation and my next period, but the burning would come back about 10 days b4 my next period, things are still the same each month, same routine, anyway a year ago i went to the doctor and had swabs and they were negative then i got referred to a specialist and she had one look and said you have eczema, she gave me locoid steroid cream for when its bad (which is for 3 weeks constant a month) and a double base shower gel, i could feel the burn even when i applied these it even made it worse and i eventually realised they was not working, so i went to see a private gynaecologist who took swabs they were also negative then she said i have something like a nappy rash and to use sudo creme and betnovate steroid cream which didn’t work, at this point i don’t want anymore steroid cream (its probably doing more bad then good) then a couple of months back during my period the burning was so severe it was unbearable i also go a huge cut down the right side of my vagina and i made an appointment for the doctor she game me canesten cream and referred me to a dermatologist the canesten did ease the pain, the following month i got the cut again during my period, when i went to see the dermatologist she said i do have slight eczema that could have been triggered from a reaction from the inducing gel during labour, but i also have vestibulodynia and gave me yet more steroid eumovate cream, epaderm cream and numbing gel, the numbing gel only worked on the opening but my clitoris still burns as i obviously didn’t put the numbing gel on my clitoris, but the burning pain is up inside my vagina too, when i read more about vestibulodynia i realised that i have probably been wrongly diagnosed because its isnt just on my vagina opening its all over and inside, and the creams she gave me yet again when applied the burning was still present, also on my examination with the dermatologist she said the i have got a huge scar from the cut i have been getting during my period and also my inner lips have disappeared, as i feel like the symptom feels like yeast i have been trying home remedies but again burning is still present and i also took a saliva test when you spit in a glass first thing in the morning ans if the saliva goes to the bottom (which mine did) then there are traces of candida in my body (not sure if that is accurate), i feel that whatever it is , is controlled by my hormones because when i am not due my period and not ovulating i feel normal. and i am really at my lowest with it all now, i cant go on this way.  thank you for your time

A. Thanks. Im soory to hear of this challenging situation. Perhaps you should arrange to have a biopsy of the area when you have the symptoms. This may guide the treatment your dermatologist or gynecologist or GP will decide.
