I had my bloods taken on cycle day 22 which showed a progesterone level of 14

Q. Hi, I had my bloods taken on cycle day 22 which showed a progesterone level of 14. My Gp says this means i have not ovulated or are highly unlikley to in the future. My cycles have always been irregular anything from 28-48 days long i also suffer from ovarian cysts on my right overy, i have 2 kids and had 1MC, my last pregnancy 8 years ago, so im now 30. Is my docter correct? please help. regards
,

A. The level of progesterone for the menstrual cycle suggest that you did not ovulate in that particular cycle. It cannot predict you likelihood of ovulating in future cycles. You however seem to have features suggestive of inconsistent or infrequent ovulation. One of the causes of this is polycystic ovary. You can read a bit more about this to decide if your own condition fits this picture, and do go to your GP or gynaecologist for definitive answer,

I have had a batholin cyst for approximately 5 months

Q. I have had a batholin cyst for approximately 5 months. Recently I have noticed that it has got bigger, however, not causing any pain at present. I am 39 years of age. Should I go back to my GP because of my age and could it be cancer?,

A. It is unlikely to be a cancer, but as I have not seen it, it is best you go back to have it checked at your GP / Gynaecologist, and if you wish, to have it removed, even if it is not infected.

Can u tell me how much it costs for Vaginal tightening?

Q. Can u tell me how much it costs for Vaginal tightening . I have’nt had an Orgasm in about 5yrs due to the birth of my son’s. I’ve tried pelvic floor muscles but had no luck . Its causing a breakdown in my relationship pls help Yours Sincerley,

A. Thanks. I am sure you will be aware that consistent orgasm from clitoral stimulation is commoner than from vaginal stimulation. So do look into this. Vaginal Tightening can address vaginal relaxation or laxity problem. The cost is £3000 – £5200 depending on several individual and treatment factors.

I have a 20 month old baby following his birth placenta was left in me

Q. I have a 20 month old baby, following his birth placenta was left in me and i beled heavily for 12 weeks as a result until it was established that was the cause and i had an op to remove it. Then my periods did not return for 5-6 months and i was given a course of hormone tablets to bring it on which they did. I then had a non hormonal coil fitted but my periods lasted 3 weeks and were so heavy i bled through all my clothes and had horrendous pain, migraines etc so i went back on the pill which prior to pregnancy i had been on for 10 years problem free, the hormones in the pill made me so poorly that i could no longer take, i suffered crippling pain and extreme constant bloating and again all of the side effects of PMT but really badly. I came off the pill after less than a month at the advice of my GP and recently had a hormone releasing coil fitted, this was three months ago now, i still bleed heavily and experience a lot of hormonal symptons a lot of the time. My GP is dismissive and puts it down to heavy periods that will eventually sort themselves out however I am starting to get really down about this as I have bled almost continually since the birth of my baby and it has a massive impact on my life. I have also suffered frequent recuurring thrush since having my baby, again i am dismissed by the doctor with canesten which hardly makes a difference anymore. My mother had ovarian cancer at a young age and had to have a hysterecomy in her 30s. I am 29, I am just wondering if you think I should be looking to see a gynaecologist or whether i should continue to perserve with the bleeding and symptons and hope that eventually it will settle as advised by my GP.,

A. I think you may be best seeing a GP, but it does not look like you have described anything suggestive of ovarian cancer. Also you have probably been bleeding from different causes, at different times in the past. Currently your bleeding may be related to the fact of haveing the Mirena Hormonal Coil.

have a weak vagina where my bladder and bowels collapse inwards

Q. Hi, I have a weak vagina where my bladder and bowels collapse inwards. I have seen that there are operations to correct this, however I am concerned about the sensitivity of the area, in my sex life. Hopefully the operation would tighten up the vagina, but what about the the G spot? Will I still be able to orgasm vaginally.,

A. Thanks. You should . Most to the so-called G-Spots are probabaly extensiom of clitoral innervations. So you should. You may need to discuss about avoiding you G-Spot during surgery. This needs expert handling. You procedure can be mpdified to suite, even if it involve front repair and/or front vaginal wall tightening.

I have been suffering bad vaginal bleeding and blood clots for 2 yrs

Q. hi. I have been suffering bad vaginal bleeding and blood clots for 2 yrs. i have been in and out of hsp 14times. My blood count goes down drasticully that i have to have blood transfusions and fluids each occasion i am admitted into hsp. i feel my gynegologist doesn’t help and other doctors don’t seem to realise that this is causing a huge strain on my life and my son,s. i can’t leave the house as it can happen very quickly and i end up standing in a pool of blood and blood clots its really bad i feel i do not have a life. i feel when i got a scan taht they missed something, it feels like i have a hole inside as this is how quickly it happens, i am on all medication thay can give me and they only work for so long. i do not know what to do anymore can you help with any advice or should i change my current gynecologist?,

A. You may well ask for a second opinion from another gynaecologist, b ut you must not ignore the help that your GP can give you, and together you can decide the way forward, unless he is also not so cooperative.
