Q. My cervical screen test result was abnormal (mild dyskaryosis). I have to go back in september. I think this 6 months too long time. Can I ask a new test earlier if I want? Could I go somewhere for HPV test??? ( I live in Hereford)

A. Six months is generally not a long time, but you can contact your local provate hospital for an early prove colposcopy. HPV testing will not tell what is going on currently, it only adds to the risk index, which may suggest that you should have colposcopy. As colposcopy is just a clinic examination, you should probably be ressured, if that is normal.

Q. My daughter has already been diagnosed and treated surgically for endometriosis. She still experiences the kind of pain associated with vulvodynia. Are these two conditions often found together? ,

 

A. Not necessarily. Is it vulvodynia or dyspareunia. A gynecologist will probably be able to advise you or her. IF both happen togehter, it is a chance occurrence.

Q. Hello, I have a gut feeling Im sterile, troubles in conceive does run in immediate family but Im far to young and am definitely not thinking about having children at the moment I can see it as being abnormal if I spoke to someone about it and would hate to be judged , I would rather know but am too scared to consult anyone and am not sure of the procedure, I would like to know even if it does mean I cant conceive in the further I don’t have the money to see anyone privately so Im stuck wondering until Im old enough to consider trying for children.,

 

A. Yes. The only way is to try conceivng first. Remember that it take two, even if it is through an unknown donor sperm

Q. I am 68.I always have light brown coloured staining of my underwear. Over recent months when I take paracetamol the staining becomes black. I know this is blood .Urology investigation is clear so it must be coming from the vagina. When is blood black and what could be the cause?,

 

A. You do need urgent visit to your GP / Gynaecoligst, for urgent investigation, first Ultrasouns scan, and perhaps biopsy and / or camera look.

Q. Im not sure if this is a question you can help me with but here goes… I am a white healthy female in my 20’s with no children but for some reason my genital areas of skin is a very dark brown also in my inner thighs too….im pretty sure nothing is wrong but so self concious its affecting me having a physical relationship. Q. Is it possible to have a microperforate hymen and a septate hymen at the same time? i am only 15 but i am pretty sure i have both or definiatly one of the other, there is definatly two holes however using tampons is very hard its a very small opening and my periods tend to last quite a while. help? ,

 

A. If you have one hole, then that is unlikely to be imperforate, especially if you do have menstrual period. You should be referred to a gynaecologist. If you do have two holes, you need to determine whether this is septate hymen or from false passage. I think a gynecologist should easily be able to tell you that.

Q. I am looking for an explanation to a vibration / buzz effect that is occurring within my vagina. It happens frequently. Every 2-3 mins it happens for 20 minutes at a time. Then it leaves and may not happen until 1 hour or so later. This is just began within the last two weeks. Will it leave me as suddenly as it appeared? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ADVICE.,
